From June 17 to 25, researchers from EHU will embark on the third expedition from Krakow to Prague as part of the project «The Cultural Path of Francysk Skaryna» which began three years ago. Earlier, within the framework of this project, expeditions from Polotsk to Vilnius and from Vilnius to Krakow had already been completed.

The current expedition includes members of the Belarusian ІСОМ-Committee: historian and museum expert Alexander Kolbasko, sociologist Alexey Lastovsky, and art historian Sergey Khorevsky. Researchers will arrive in Prague and pay homage to the location where Francysk Skaryna’s printing house was located and where a memorial sign was installed this year, the Royal Gardens, parks, and other places associated with the life of the pioneer of printing.

The basis for the development of the project is field research of historical landscapes, historical and cultural values, and artifacts. The main tasks of the researchers are to visit museums, libraries, universities, meet with well-known and authoritative experts on Skaryna’s heritage and his era, and also to share with colleagues from Poland and the Czech Republic about EHU’s research projects.

The results of three years of work on the project «The Cultural Path of Francysk Skaryna» will be presented in October at the EHU scientific conference dedicated to the personality of Francysk Skaryna.
